    LawAccess NSW is a government telephone service that provides free legal information, referrals and in some cases advice, for people who have a legal problem in NSW.

    Legal Aid NS​W

    Legal Aid NSW is a state-wide organisation providing legal services to socially and economically disadvantaged people across NSW.

    You may be able to get a free 20 minute face-to-face appointment to get some legal advice.

    Legal Aid NSW can also represent people in some very limited cases, but not everyone is eligible for legal aid.

    Community Legal Centres (CLCs)

    Community Legal Centres (CLCs) are independent community organisations that provide legal advice and assistance.

    Some CLCs provide legal advice over the phone and hold interview and advice sessions during and after business hours. You should contact the centre in your area directly to find out what services they offer.

    Community Justice Centres (CJCs)

    Community Justice Centres (CJCs) provide mediation for people in a dispute. Mediation is an informal​ way of solving a problem. At mediation, the people involved in a dispute come together with the help of a neutral person called a 'mediator' to talk and try and settle the dispute .The mediator helps people understand the problem, talk to each other and come up with solutions. A mediator will not take sides and cannot give you legal advice.

    Law Society of NSW - Solicitor Referral Service

    If you are looking for a private solicitor, the Law Society of NSW can help you. 

    The Law Society of NSW Solicitor Referral Service can give you the contact details of up to three law firms located near you. 

    You can request a referral by completing an Online Referral Request Form or by contacting the Law Society of NSW (Solicitor Referral Service).
