Who's who in court - AVO cases
In an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) case there could be a number of different people in the courtroom, such as:
- the magistrate or registrar
- a police prosecutor
- the other party
- court staff
- witnesses
- a domestic violence liaison officer (DVLO).
Before you go to court it can help if you know; what a typical courtroom looks like, who the different people are in the court, and where you should sit.
